Bio

Indianapolis based artist Danielle Diedrich specializes in oil painting and collage. Growing up in a family of artists, her creativity has been nurtured since childhood. Although she was born in Indianapolis, Diedrich spent her preteen and teenage years in Northern New Jersey, where she developed a deep appreciation for intricate and eclectic architecture. Walking—her primary mode of transportation—quickly became an integral part of her artistic process. By seeking out beauty in everyday situations, such as a building illuminated by the sunrise on her way to work, she collects reference images and practices the mindfulness she hopes to instill in her viewers.

Diedrich returned to Indianapolis and graduated from the Herron School of Art and Design in 2021 with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Painting. Since then, she has exhibited her work in local galleries, including the Indianapolis Art Center and the Harrison Center. In 2022, Diedrich began renting a studio that she shares with her sister, who is also an artist. In this space, she not only creates her art but also hosts open studio events, showcasing her work and connecting with the community.
